Under the leadership of the Operations Manager, Pharmacy Specialist, or Network Director and the technical guidance of a pharmacist, assists the pharmacist in filling medication orders and maintaining appropriate levels of medications in pharmacy, nursing units, service carts and trays to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications:

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

Must hold an Indiana Pharmacy Technician Certificate or an Indiana Pharmacy Technician in Training Permit. Must apply for the Indiana Pharmacy Technician in Training Permit within 30 days of hire if not already certified or have training permit. Must obtain a national Pharmacy Technician certification within 12 months of date of hire.

Experience:

No specific experience is required. Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is a plus.

Education:

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Lutheran Health Network facility will provide on-the-job training. Must complete LHN Pharmacy Technician training program within one year of hire date. Successful completion of an Indiana Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician training program at a previous site is a plus.
